Hype Machine is a media training and strategic communications firm led by former journalist and communications specialist Jordan Cullen.
hype: extravagant or intensive publicity or promotion.
Our Story
Jordan Cullen is a former journalist and public relations professional with a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of the Sunshine Coast. His career has spanned newsroom reporting, media relations and communications roles across regional Queensland, including working with organisations in high profile and high risk sectors such as mining, infrastructure and community services.
Through years of working with journalists and managing public communication, Jordan developed a deep understanding of how stories are shaped, how headlines are written and how reputations are built or damaged in the public eye.
That experience is the foundation of Hype Machine.
Why we're here
Hype Machine was created to help leaders and organisations communicate with confidence when attention is on them. In a world where interviews, headlines and social media can shape public perception in seconds, being unprepared is no longer an option.
Our goal is simple. We prepare people to handle the spotlight with clarity, credibility and control.
What we're about
Hype Machine is not a generic training business. It is built on real newsroom and PR experience. We know what journalists are looking for, how quotes are selected and how stories are framed. That insight allows us to train leaders and organisations for the way media and public attention actually works today.
When the pressure is on
In addition to journalism and PR, Jordan brings a background in performance and public speaking. That means our training goes beyond what to say. We also focus on how you sound, how you appear on camera and how you stay calm and natural under pressure.
